The adrenal glands are the star-shaped endocrine glands that sit on top of the kidneys which has responsibility for regulating the stress response (wikipedia.org). The following picture shows you with the anatomy of the adrenal gland.

Adrenal Gland consists of two endocrine glands, there are the adrenal medulla and the adrenal cortex. The adrenal medulla secretes cathecolamine directly into blood and the adrenal cortex secretes steroid hormones such as aldosterone, glucocorticoids, androgens, and estrogens.
