Guillain Barre’ Syndrom (GBS) is a rare autoimmune disease and the most common cause of acute flaccid paralysis in Guillain Barre' Syndrome Guideline adults and children in the United States. The following document will help primary care physicians/practitioners about GBS and the importance of its recognition in the acute care setting which may increase awareness of the physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of GBS.

What you will find in this document are sections such as the etiology of GBS, epidemiology, pathophysiology of Guillain Barre’ Syndrom, Clinical Features (paresthesia and numbness, Sensory or autonomic dysfunction, Ataxia, Areflexia, etc), Subtypes of Guillain-Barre’ Syndrome, and factors strongly correlated with GBS diagnosis.

Since GBS is rare, an early recognition and knowledge of GBS may decrease mortality and residual effects of GBS. Complete read of Guillain Barre’ Syndrome Guideline for Primary Care Physicians can be seen in this physician guideline of pdf filetype (source: ijahsp.nova.edu)
