Job Description
Join a multi-specialty group in private practice. The group seeks the ideal candidate (family practice or internal medicine) interested in a traditional practice setting. Expect to see 20-25 patients per day. The practice has 20,000+ active charts and an attractive payor mix. Physician may choose to utilize the hospital’s Hospitalist Program for inpatients or share in a call arrangement with other physicians. Staff privileges at Wythe County Community Hospital include intensive care, pediatrics and nursery. Teaching opportunities are available at the osteopathic medical school in Blacksburg.
Recruitment incentive package may include income support, practice start up assistance, sign- on bonus, student loan repayment, stipend for last year residents, relocation allowance and marketing.
Board certification required through the AOA or the American Board of Medical Specialties (unless residency has just been completed). MD or DO accepted.
The Practice
The practice consists of four physicians and one nurse practitioner and is located directly behind the hospital. The practice facility is a brand-new state-of-the-art complex with spacious exam rooms and offices. The successful and financially profitable practice offers a two year partnership track with no buy-in. Two opportunities currently exist within this practice.

The Hospital
A 100-bed acute care community hospital that is fully accredited by Joint Commission.
The hospital has a 6- bed ICU, 3 large operating rooms and 1 minor procedure room, in-house MRI and 16 slice CT, MD & CRNA anesthesia. The hospital offers 24-hour Emergency Care, Surgery, Extended Care Services, Intensive Care, Women’s Services, Radiology Services, Rehabilitation Services, Hospice, Home Health, Cardiology, Respiratory, Cancer Services, Pastoral Care, Hospitalist Program and Community/Occupational Education.
The Community
This community abounds in restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Several major cities, including Roanoke, Virginia, Bristol-Kingsport, Tennessee and Winston-Salem, North Carolina are within a two-hour drive or less and offer plenty of opportunities for sports, concerts, fine dining and cultural events.
